Creek in the woods You've heard the expression: "...if the creek don't rise." The first week of April the creek rose. Not a problem. Just a spring thing. Our creek is normally very small. Maybe it's a "crick".

Mayapple plants in Michigan woods

 I moved some Mayapple plants next to our driveway and they are thriving. These are just emerging.

This is not a hardy outdoor plant. This a photo taken in the greenhouse. I crossed an Apple Blossom Amaryllis with a common red and this interesting offspring blossomed in April of the third year.

Whitetail Deer in garden This photo is the spring version of the winter shot on the February page. This is the time of year that the deer browse the garden the most. Later when the woods is full of green things to eat the deer give us a break. This is "deerscaping" at its best. (Do you see her?)
